Carp fishing

Carp fishing on the bottom

For bottom fishing for carp, you need a stable and powerful rod with a casting weight between 2.75 and 3.5 lbs (25g - 80g casting weight) and a length between 3.0 and 3.9 m. Large free-spool reels are particularly suitable for this purpose due to their precise free-spooling and powerful drag. It should be spooled with a 0.30 - 0.35 mm monofilament main line, such as the carp target line.

Depending on the current, hexagonal weights or pear weights between 40 g and 100 g attached to a Classic Feeder boom, plastic beads, sturdy high-performance swivels and, depending on the size of the bait, target fish hooks for carp in sizes 1-8 should be used.
Baits that can be used include canned corn, worms, dough, soaked hard corn, Frolic, hard-boiled potatoes and boilies.

Carp fishing with a float

The equipment needed for successful carp fishing with a float is a little more delicate than that needed for a bottom fishing combo. Depending on the water and obstacles, the carp target line, in a thickness of 0.25–0.30 mm, forms a balanced set with floats between 3 g and 10 g, from our float ranges, matching shot weights, high-performance swivels in sizes 6–10, and target fish hooks in sizes 4–8. When it comes to bait, the selection ranges from worms to dough to canned corn.
