FAIR packaging
- FAIE offers a range of over 40,000 items and attaches great importance to sustainable packaging solutions in order to reduce waste. Our aim is to combine environmental friendliness and functional packaging. This is why many of our suppliers and producers deliver the items unpackaged and loose on request, which means that more than half of the goods do not generate any packaging waste from the outset.
- For years now, we have been doing without plastic for 93.5% of our parcels, both in the filling material and in the outer packaging. Instead, we use recycled cardboard paper and the packaging is made from 100% recycled paper. Even though these plain, brown parcels may seem a little “spartan” at first glance, they are much better for the environment.
- Through consolidated deliveries and a well thought-out shipping strategy, we reduce the number of individual parcel deliveries and thus actively contribute to reducing CO2 emissions. In addition, we are increasingly relying on shipping by rail instead of road, which further minimizes the environmental impact.
- The advertising material at FAIE is supplied CO2 NEUTRAL. (LINK: https://www.post.at/co2neutral/co2_neutral_zugestellt.php)
- The company building, which was constructed in 2010, is characterized by an innovative, energy-saving heating system that is operated using heat pump technology. The timber construction of the building also contributes to an energy-efficient and pleasant indoor climate for our employees. With a PV system, we produce almost all of our electricity consumption ourselves.
- FAIE is also involved in supporting sustainable projects, such as the start-up Hektar Nektar, in order to promote the bee population with the 2028 project and thus secure agriculture in the long term.
CO2 certificate
Our success in reducing CO2 emissions is confirmed every year by BellandVision's climate certificate, which is awarded to us for our efforts to protect the environment.
With a voluntary contribution of just €1.49, you can help us protect the environment, reduce waste and test new, sustainable packaging materials. We are constantly testing, renewing and optimizing our packaging materials and complex systems to find the most environmentally friendly solutions.
We are currently testing alternatives to conventional plastic packaging tape. During this changeover phase, we are trying out different materials. It is therefore possible that you may occasionally still receive conventional packaging. We appreciate your support for fair packaging and would like to thank you for your help on the way to even more sustainable packaging solutions!
