In the past, incandescent bulbs were rated by wattage, making it easy to compare different manufacturers or lamp types. With the legal abolition of the incandescent bulb and the introduction of new specifications (lumens), comparing light bulbs has become significantly more difficult for consumers. Today, one has to wrestle with a variety of specifications such as lumens, luminous flux, light color, and so on.
Furthermore, the specifications for LED bulbs, such as 3W, 7W, 9W, etc., are somewhat confusing and cannot be converted 1:1, as the actual luminous output of the bulbs can vary considerably. Thus, two bulbs with the same wattage rating can produce completely different lighting results. Only the so-called "lumen rating" remains constant and truly provides information about the degree of brightness a bulb emits.
However, LED lamps don't only have disadvantages. Their lower wattage minimizes power consumption. Furthermore, LED lamps have a significantly longer lifespan than traditional halogen lamps.
For this reason, we've taken the trouble to provide you with a small conversion table to help you choose the right bulb. So that you don't have to wait until you've made a (wrong) purchase to see if you're right:

The value "lumen" used in this table is the standard value since the discontinuation of incandescent lamps and corresponds to luminous flux or intensity. In individual cases, the terms "luminous flux," "luminous intensity," or the abbreviation "lm" may also refer to the unit lumen.
