Heat stress in cows
Cattle evolved from the temperate climate zone, meaning their thermoneutral zone, or optimum temperature, is between 7°C and 17°C. Low temperatures are not a problem, but higher temperatures (sometimes much higher in summer), can lead to health problems or, in the worst case, even death. Read the following article from the Upper Austrian Chamber of Agriculture to learn how to protect your animals from heat stress and provide them with optimal housing.
