Install fans correctly

Here are a few important tips and guidelines:
- Ensure sufficient air movement (draft 2-3 m/s)
- A cooling effect occurs up to approx. 1m/s
- Do not switch on the fan too late; ventilation should start at about 23°C (at a low speed already in spring so that the animals can get used to the draft).
- Never position the fan against the natural wind conditions; it should draw in as cool air as possible (keep the intake side clear)
- In extreme heat, run the fan at a low speed, even at night!
- Priority of installation: above the cubicles, in the waiting area for the milking parlor/robot, above the feeding place
- Install the fan max. 2-4 m from the open wall or install it directly into the closed wall
- The lower edge of the fan should be about 2.5 m above the animals
- Tilt angle forward of about 15-25° so that the fan blows over the back, otherwise it blows too high
- The air flow in the lying area should pass approximately 20cm along the back of the animals
- Distance to the first lying box is best 3-4 m
- The throw performance indicates how many fans you need and at what distances: rule of thumb is 1m throw distance per 10cm rotor diameter
- It is best to secure the fans at three points to prevent them from swinging
