Question about a hydraulic pump with transmission gear
I have a backhoe (Fai 555), it is quite large - no self-supply with a pump and an IHC 744. I would now like to combine the two:
- Would this pump be suitable?
- Is this pump also available with a sleeve, not a stub?
- Or another connection or something similar?
- How big should the tank volume be?
Answer from Mr. Ing. Meixner, Product Manager Hydraulics Program
As far as I know, the 744 has a maximum hydraulic pump output of 30 L/min. If this output is sufficient for the backhoe, then our hydraulic pump with gearbox is also sufficient, as you can access a pump output of approximately 50 L/min at a PTO speed of 350 rpm.
The combination is also available with a gearbox with a slip-on sleeve on the PTO shaft end. The gearbox has the Faie No. 37087. Please refer to the drawing with the dimensions in the online shop to see whether the gearbox can be attached to the tractor at all. In any case, the gearbox must be mounted in such a way that it cannot twist.
For mobile systems, it's said that the pump's capacity should be roughly the same as the tank size. In our case, that would be 50 liters. If it's possible to go even larger, that's not a disadvantage, as the heat buildup isn't as pronounced. If you know the exact capacity required for the backhoe's operation, that's not a disadvantage, as you can then design the pump accordingly.
For example, the backhoe requires 35 L/min to operate. PTO speed on the 744 is 300 rpm.
Speed at the drive of the HY pump: 300 x 3.8 (gear ratio) = 1140 rpm
(35x1000) / 1140 = 30,70
30.70 / efficiency of 0.9 = 34.11 cm³ per revolution, resulting in a pump from our range with 36 cm³ per revolution = Faie No. 277
