In cows with severe udder or extremely severe udder edema, often in combination with a narrow leg position, the skin of the udder and thigh in the udder-thigh gap is stressed. A particularly humid, warm environment is created that destroys the protective mechanisms of the udder and thigh skin. The friction between the thigh and udder surfaces also leads to heating and inflammation of the skin surfaces. At the first sign of skin irritation or a change in odor, apply VACASAN to the affected skin areas. Before use, shake the spray can vigorously and, with the can held vertically and the tube attached, spray into the udder-thigh gap for approx. 3 seconds.Repeat the application twice a day.Checks in Udder-thigh gaps should only be performed with freshly washed hands or disposable gloves. Wash your hands thoroughly after the checks. This also reduces the risk of germ transmission to other udders and thus the provocation of mastitis in other animals.
