Broken beetle - what to do?

New information folder from the Federal Research Centre for Forests
Austria's forestry industry owed 2.4 million cubic meters of damaged timber to bark beetles in 2015. This alarmingly high figure prompted the Institute for Forest Protection of the Federal Research Center for Forests (BFW) to revise its guidelines for preventing bark beetle damage, focusing on spruce bark beetles.
The primary goal of control strategies is to prevent the pest from multiplying in large numbers. The BFW has compiled an informative brochure outlining how forest owners can identify an infestation and what options are available to combat it.
